Bucketlist Bali: Yacht, Jungle & Villa Week
Eight days of Bali built around the things that are hard to organise alone: a private yacht to look for manta rays, two quiet nights in the hills around Munduk, a Kecak evening only for the tribe and a route that moves from Canggu's beach clubs to Nusa Penida's water and the cooler north. We stay in four hand-picked hotels, so the first half stays social and the second half slows right down.
We start in Canggu with a beach-club icebreaker, a group picnic and room to choose your own surf level. Then we cross to Nusa Penida, where beer pong night and the private yacht make the island the week's big water day.
The route slows in Munduk, a mountain village in North Bali. Two nights at Puri Lumbung's cottages give us a quiet arrival evening, a shared dinner and one full day through Twin Lake, Ulun Danu and a waterfall. Ubud is the last turn: one night at Arya Arkananta, a Kecak evening only for our tribe and a farewell dinner before everyone flies home.
It is a Gen-Z Bali trip with real value in it. The yacht, the hotels, the island movement and the people beside you are the product.

Stay
Hotels we love for this route.
We sometimes use these hotels, or hotels like these, depending on dates, availability, and the final rooming plan.

Not tour guides. Social engineers who read the energy, pull the quiet one in and know when to lead or disappear.

A note from the team
There are many ways to explore Indonesia. This is one of our favourites.
Ask your favourite AI for a trip and you will get a sensible TripAdvisor checklist: famous stop, quick photo, next stop. We plan the hard-to-reach magic instead, then leave room for detours and the moments no schedule can manufacture.
Notes for you
Yes. Book your flights later and arrange your own extra nights. We cannot hold rooms past 28 March, so book early for Canggu or Ubud.
An ExCo facilitator travels with the group, backed by a local fixer who knows the drivers and the boats.
Across the 12 months ending 29 July 2026, our travelled groups were close to balanced, with about 55% women and 44% men. The median traveller was 34 and the median group had 9 people. That is a historical snapshot, not a promise about the mix on a specific edition.
We design each edition around the destination rather than using a standard tour template. The usual rhythm is one or two experiences a day, with room to take the place in instead of rushing through a checklist.
Yes. Anyone aged 18 or older can apply. Our groups often skew from the late 20s to early 40s, but fit, energy and the experience itself matter more than fitting a narrow age band.
Yes. You can apply solo or with someone you know.
No. The surf lesson is optional and about USD 20. Everything else is a boat, a hike, a party or an evening show.
The Twin Lake day is the hardest one. If you can walk 2 to 3 hours with breaks, you will be fine. Wet trails can be slippery, so bring shoes with grip.
Yes. Tell your facilitator and take the time for yourself. The transfers and boats still run on schedule, so you will need to stay with the group on moving days.
Seven nights in four hotels, breakfasts, three dinners, the yacht day, the Twin Lake hike, the Kecak evening, fast boats, island cars, road transfers and your facilitator. The Bali tourist levy and Penida port fee are covered too.
Plan on about ₹25,000 to 40,000 for lunches, drinks, visa, airport rides and extras. Flights are separate. Mumbai returns have been about ₹60,000.
Yes. Indian passport holders can get the 30 day Visa on Arrival at DPS or apply for the e-VOA online first. It is about ₹3,000. Your passport needs 6 months validity, and you fill in the free All Indonesia arrival form within 3 days of landing.
Land by 2:00 PM on 21 March. Book your flight home after 3:00 PM on 28 March, and leave Ubud by 10:30 AM.
No. Take a Grab, Gojek or taxi. It is about ₹1,800 to 2,500 to Canggu and about ₹2,500 from Ubud back to the airport.
Rooms are twin share by default, and our team does the pairing. If you want a room to yourself, you can pay the single supplement at booking.
Vegetarian is easy. Vegan is good in Canggu and Ubud and limited in Munduk and Nusa Penida. Tell us at booking and we brief each kitchen. Pack snacks.
Beer and cocktails are easy in Canggu and Ubud. A bar beer is about IDR 40,000 to 60,000. Stay away from arak cocktails sold roadside.
Late March is the end of the wet season: warm, humid and 27 to 31C. Expect short showers. Munduk is cooler and wetter, and Nusa Penida is drier.
Manta sightings are never guaranteed. Our private yacht goes where the water is best that morning. If the sea says no, we change the route and still snorkel.
Fast-boat crossings can be rough. Take motion-sickness tablets before you board and sit near the middle. Tell your facilitator if it hits you.
Hotels have WiFi, though it is slower in Munduk and Nusa Penida. An Airalo or Ubigi eSIM costs about ₹800 to 1,200, or buy a Telkomsel SIM at the airport.
Carry about ₹10,000 in rupiah for warungs and tips. ATMs are reliable in Canggu and Ubud and scarce in Munduk and Penida. Bring a forex card and a debit card. Do not rely on UPI.
Audience guide
Who are Bucketlist trips designed for?
Bucketlist is for curious travellers who want destination-led adventures with a deliberately formed small group, enough structure to make the journey work, and room to experience the place in their own rhythm. Many people apply solo, including first-time solo travellers, but being solo is not a requirement for every edition.
Bucketlist is not gated by profession. Founders, creators and executives may join, but so may people from any other line of work; BHX is ExCo's separate founder-and-creator brain-vacation format.
The live edition decides the fit. Read its stated audience, capacity, price, activity level, route and inclusions before applying; those details are not universal across Bucketlist.

Why community × travel
Travel is the catalyst. Community is what stays.
In 2014, we started creating journeys in the hope that the right people, in the right place, could make something unrepeatable happen. From roadtrips across Iceland to sake crawls through Japan, that belief has only grown stronger.
Every creator, artist, rebel and doer deserves a space to travel with people they vibe with, to places that make them feel infinite. Across BHX, Festival of X and Bucketlist, travel has never been the finish line. It opens conversations, friendships and the kind of magic that is hard to explain once you are home.
