Finland in February means a real Arctic winter: Rovaniemi's dark skies, one night beside Lake Livo in Posio, then Helsinki's sauna-and-city rhythm. Hunt the Northern Lights with a guide, send a postcard from Santa Claus Village, ride with huskies and take a snowmobile across the snow. The route then turns south for first ski or snowboard runs in Espoo, a Finnish sauna and one last dinner together. The temperature may fall to -20°C, so proper layers matter. The lights are never guaranteed. What is guaranteed is nine days of Finland's great winter firsts, shared with a small tribe instead of pieced together alone.
14 people x 9 days x 1 Arctic adventure: three nights in Rovaniemi, one night beside Lake Livo in Posio and four nights in Helsinki. The route carries you from a guided Northern Lights hunt and Santa Claus Village to huskies, a snowmobile ride, first turns on Espoo's snow and a Finnish sauna.
Come if you want Finland's great winter firsts without stitching Lapland, Posio and Helsinki into three separate trips. The hotels, included experiences and movement between cities are already held together; airport transfers and the Icebreaker (optional add-on) remain clearly separate. February gives you dark skies and deep snow, but no honest trip can promise an aurora. What you can count on is the tribe beside you while you wait for it.

DAY 01
Rovaniemi's First Northern Lights
- Arrive independently in Rovaniemi and settle into Lapland Hotels Ounasvaara Chalets, where the Kemijoki River and Ounasvaara slopes frame your first afternoon.
- Meet the tribe over an included welcome dinner, trading names and winter nerves before everyone pulls on layers for the night outside.
- Follow your guide beyond Rovaniemi's city lights for an included Northern Lights hunt, knowing the sky decides what appears above you.
DAY 02
Rovaniemi at Your Own Pace
- Start with breakfast at Ounasvaara, then choose your own Rovaniemi rhythm: snowy streets, a warm café or a slow reset after last night's hunt.
- Keep the day unscheduled or choose the Icebreaker Cruise and Polar Plunge (optional add-on) for €250, then compare the coldest stories over a warm evening.
- Return to Ounasvaara by evening and compare the day's stories with the tribe before Santa Claus Village and the huskies arrive tomorrow.
DAY 03
Santa Claus Village and Huskies
- Walk into Santa Claus Village and send a postcard home from Santa's post office, with the tribe beside you for the full Rovaniemi Christmas moment.
- Meet the huskies for an included sled ride across the Lapland snow, with paws, runners and cold air setting the day's tempo.
- Return to Ounasvaara with wind-reddened faces and one last Rovaniemi evening before the road turns towards quieter Posio tomorrow.
DAY 04
Posio Road, Lake Livo Night
- Leave the Rovaniemi chalets and take the road to Posio, trading three days of Lapland firsts for the stillness of Lake Livo, where a single Arctic night waits at Livo Arctic Resort.
- Check into Livo Arctic Resort beside Lake Livo, where an aurora igloo gives the tribe one night built around stillness and sky.
- Settle in early and let Posio go quiet around you, with no scheduled chase and no promise beyond the view outside.
DAY 05
Snowmobiles Before Helsinki
- Return towards Rovaniemi for an included snowmobile ride, letting engines and fresh tracks give Lapland one final burst before you leave.
- Board the included Rovaniemi-to-Helsinki flight together, watching the Arctic leg become four nights based at boutique Hotel F6.
- Settle into Fabianinkatu and meet the tribe for your first Helsinki evening, with snowfields behind you and the capital ahead.
DAY 06
Central Helsinki on Foot
- Walk central Helsinki with the tribe and learn the city's shape on foot before deciding which corners deserve more of your time.
- Keep the afternoon open for your own Helsinki list, whether that means staying with the group or following a separate curiosity.
- Return to Hotel F6 as the city lights come on, with tomorrow's Espoo snow session now close enough to feel real.
DAY 07
First Ski Turns in Espoo
- Travel from Helsinki to Espoo for an included beginner ski or snowboard session, taking your first careful runs together on Finnish snow.
- Take the first turns, falls and small wins together, until the tribe has enough slope stories to replay all evening.
- Return to Hotel F6 with tired legs and one final Helsinki day waiting, including the sauna and farewell dinner tomorrow.
DAY 08
Helsinki Sauna, One Last Table
- Keep the morning and afternoon for self-explore in Helsinki, returning to anything you noticed on the group walk two days ago.
- Come back together for an included Finnish sauna, letting the warmth work through tired ski legs and eight full winter days.
- Move from the sauna to an included farewell dinner, where the same people from Rovaniemi's first table now feel entirely familiar.
DAY 09
One Last Helsinki Morning
- Check out of Hotel F6 on Fabianinkatu, packing four Helsinki nights and the whole Rovaniemi-to-Posio route into one last morning.
- Make your own way from Hotel F6 to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, roughly twenty-five to thirty minutes across the city, carrying the husky ride, the Lake Livo igloo night, the Espoo snow and the Helsinki sauna home with you.
- Fly out of Helsinki with the tribe's messages already waiting, plus huskies, Lake Livo, Espoo snow and a Finnish sauna behind you.

We design each edition around the destination rather than using a standard tour template. The usual rhythm is one or two experiences a day, with room to take the place in instead of rushing through a checklist.
Yes. Anyone aged 18 or older can apply. Our groups often skew from the late 20s to early 40s, but fit, energy and the experience itself matter more than fitting a narrow age band.
Yes. You can apply solo or with someone you know.
Double occupancy sharing is standard, with someone of the same gender, matched on age and lifestyle preferences (sleep schedule, cleanliness, social energy). Single occupancy upgrades are available on most editions; the additional fee depends on the property. If a single room is non-negotiable, flag it before paying the deposit and we'll confirm availability and price within 24 hours — hotel inventory shifts and we'd rather lock it in than surprise you later.

Who are Bucketlist trips designed for?
Bucketlist is for curious travellers who want destination-led adventures with a deliberately formed small group, enough structure to make the journey work, and room to experience the place in their own rhythm. Many people apply solo, including first-time solo travellers, but being solo is not a requirement for every edition.
