Bucketlist Ski & Snowboarding Week (Kashmir)

Across the 12 months ending 29 July 2026, our travelled groups were close to balanced, with about 55% women and 44% men. The median traveller was 34 and the median group had 9 people. That is a historical snapshot, not a promise about the mix on a specific edition.

We design each edition around the destination rather than using a standard tour template. The usual rhythm is one or two experiences a day, with room to take the place in instead of rushing through a checklist.

Yes. Anyone aged 18 or older can apply. Our groups often skew from the late 20s to early 40s, but fit, energy and the experience itself matter more than fitting a narrow age band.

Yes. You can apply solo or with someone you know.

Included: 5 nights stay, 5 breakfasts, 5 dinners, 2 slope lunches, ski/snowboard gear rental + 3 days of 1-on-1 instruction, gondola, ski lift, snowmobile run, Shikara ride, 4x4 road trip, and Aabid throughout. Not included: flights, airport transfers, thermals/ski clothing, alcohol, personal shopping, solo excursions, travel insurance, and instructor tips. Basically — the adventure's covered, your personal extras aren't.

Only postpaid connections and BSNL work reliably in Kashmir (prepaid SIMs from other telecoms often get barred due to regional restrictions) — if you're an Indian traveler, check with your provider before you leave. Foreign travelers should get a local postpaid-enabled tourist SIM in Srinagar on arrival. WiFi in hotels is decent but not lightning-fast — don't expect to stream much in Gulmarg.

Yes, the Srinagar-to-Gulmarg road trip in 4x4's is included, and once in Gulmarg, most activities (gondola, ski lift, slopes) are walkable or a short shared ride from your stay. Airport transfers (to/from the airport at trip start/end) are NOT included — budget for a cab, roughly INR 1,500-2,500 each way depending on your flight timing.

Aabid (your facilitator) is with you throughout and is your first point of contact for any issue. Gulmarg has basic medical facilities and a ski patrol for slope injuries; Srinagar has better-equipped hospitals (SKIMS, roughly 1.5-2 hrs from Gulmarg). We strongly recommend travel insurance covering winter sports (not included in your package) — skiing injuries without insurance can get expensive fast.

This is rated Activity Level 4 (out of 5) — you'll be on your feet a lot, dealing with cold, altitude, and physically demanding ski/snowboard sessions across 3 days. Complete beginners are totally fine since you get 1-on-1 instructor sessions, but you should have decent general fitness — no major cardiovascular or joint issues. Expect sore muscles by Day 2, that's normal.

It's genuinely hard to buy alcohol locally in Kashmir — limited licensed shops and none in Gulmarg itself. If you want to drink, carry it from your origin city (check airline limits — usually 2 bottles max in checked baggage). Alcohol isn't included in meals, so you're on your own for this one.

Not at all. Kashmiri cuisine has excellent vegetarian options (dum aloo, rajma, haak saag, paneer dishes) and most restaurants accommodate vegetarians easily. Vegan is trickier since dairy (especially ghee and yogurt) is common, but you can request modifications — just flag it to Aabid on Day 1 so he can brief the hotels/restaurants in advance.

Expect daytime temps around 0°C to -5°C, dropping to -10°C or lower at night. It's peak snow season, so expect heavy snowfall, occasional whiteouts, and icy winds on the slopes. Srinagar is slightly milder (2-8°C). This is genuinely cold — don't underestimate it, layering is everything.

Thermals (top + bottom, 2-3 sets), a good windproof/waterproof jacket, woolen socks (carry 4-5 pairs, wet socks ruin your day), gloves, a beanie/balaclava, sunglasses or ski goggles (snow glare is real), lip balm and moisturizer (it's brutally dry), and sturdy waterproof boots. Ski clothes and equipment are provided, but your inner layers make or break the experience. Pack light — laundry isn't easy up there.

Flights to Srinagar (book early, ~INR 6,000-12,000 round trip from major cities), airport transfers (~INR 1,500-2,500 each way), thermals/ski jackets if you don't own them (~INR 2,000-4,000 to buy or rent locally), personal lunches on non-slope days, shopping (Kashmiri shawls, saffron, dry fruits are hard to resist), instructor tips (~INR 500-1000/day is standard), and travel insurance (~INR 800-1500). Budget an extra INR 15,000-20,000 to be comfortable.

If you're an Indian citizen, no visa needed — just a valid government ID (Aadhar/Passport). If you're a foreign national, India requires an e-Visa (apply at least 4-5 days before travel, costs roughly USD 25-100 depending on your nationality and duration). Kashmir doesn't need any special permits for tourists, so once your Indian visa is sorted, you're good to go.
