Why we’re so excited
This is more than just a road trip, it’s a deep dive into the Northeast way of life. Over eight nights, you’ll journey through Meghalaya and Assam, hiking to living root bridges grown over generations, exploring hidden limestone caves, and witnessing the dramatic drop of Nohkalikai Falls wrapped in mist. Track one-horned rhinos on sunrise jeep safaris in Kaziranga, cross the mighty Brahmaputra to Majuli, and experience island life with neo-Vaishnavite monasteries and a Mising family who’ll teach you to brew Apong.
With scenic drives, curated stays, and a seamless on-ground experience, this trip blends adventure with culture at every turn. From long road journeys with great playlists to hikes that earn you your meals, every moment is designed to feel real and unfiltered. Share stories with a tribe of creators and explorers, soak in landscapes few have truly experienced, and discover a side of India that stays with you long after the journey ends.
See you in the Northeast!

Our Favourite Stays
A curated collection of experiential airbnbs, comfort hotels, premium hostels & secluded villas. Here's a taste of the hotels we sometimes use on this adventure. The hotels you'll stay in for your departure will be shared with you 60 days before you go.
Sai Mika Resort, Cherrapunji
-
Perched in the Khasi hills overlooking the plateau, the property is the destination, not a base for walking out to cafes. Nearest village is a short drive. You’ll be here for the silence, the clouds rolling through, and the stone cottages.
-
This hotel has an 3.7 stars on Google.
Windermere Resort, Shillong
-
Tucked into the pine-covered outskirts of Shillong, 15–20 min from Police Bazaar and the cafe/music scene. Scottish-hill-station vibes cooler, quieter, less chaotic than central Shillong. We’ll drive in for the evening out.
-
A 9.2 on Booking.com and 4.5 stars on Google.
Habitas Rhino, Kaziranga
-
Sits on the edge of Kaziranga National Park in traditional-style cottages. You’re deep in tea-country-meets-grassland territory, no town walking, no nearby cafes.
-
Rated 9.5 on Booking.com and 4.5 Stars on Google.
Enchanting Majuli Resort, Majuli
-
Majuli is the world’s largest river island, the whole island runs on its own rhythm, cycle-rickshaws, dirt roads, neo-Vaishnavite monasteries. The resort is your base for visits to satras and Mising villages. Don’t expect urban conveniences.
-
This hotel has an 7.5 rating on Booking.com & 4.2 stars on Google.

We recommend having a read-through of the itinerary above, and getting in touch if you have specific questions on fitness here.
This adventure is fast-paced and includes a road trip, however, the activities aren’t too strenuous so it is a fantastic trip for those with a normal level of fitness who want to see a lot in their time here. We also design our flow where we give enough downtime & space to explore on your own pace as well.
-
Sringar International Airport (SXR)
-
Please arrive in Srinagar before 1 pm on Day 1, allowing ample time for immigration and reaching the hotel. You can have enough time to check in (3 pm) and rest, before the welcome meeting & dinner.
-
We don't offer airport transfers to the hotel because of the different arrival times of Bucketlister. Easiest way is to book a Fly Bus from the KEF airport to Foss Hotel Baron. We do recommend getting in touch with your fellow travellers on the WhatsApp group to coordinate if anyone is landing around the same time and take a Fly Bus to the hotel with them.
-
The luggage allowance for the transfers is 23kg.
-
This is a well-orchestrated experience designed to leave room for discovery.
Some adventures are pre-planned. Some unfold on the fly. Add-ons can be chosen in advance, and the rest? Facilitators often suggest spontaneous ideas you can join in like a museum pop-in, a hidden cafe stop, or a live gig. These aren’t always in the gameplan, but they’re often the most memorable.
Expect space to explore solo, connect with your tribe, or recharge at your own pace. This is an edition, not an itinerary.
Note: Gameplans, experiences & hotels are subject to change based on on-ground conditions. These changes are rare but can happen with little notice due to availability, poor weather, seasonal changes, or other circumstances beyond our control, but we’ll always do our best to ensure it has little impact on your experience. From time to time, we may also make changes to your itinerary to try out new ideas and keep things fresh and exciting, which we will always try and communicate to you.

Why Bucketlist?
The World has a lot to offer / As creators & founders, we look for inspiration in everything we do. We don’t know where the next epiphanies lie. One of the ways we’ve found to engineer serendipity, level up & create space for epiphanies is through new experiences & travel.
We have a lot to share / Hosting festivals, BHX, collaborating with brands and exploring the world has taught us a few things about creating experiences that move - creating communities where none exist.
You asked for it / Everytime we’ve hungout with creators, founders, movement makers, culture shifters in Shillong or in Berlin — they haven’t stopped asking us for more. SOTC, Solo Travel & travelling with friends just doesn’t cut it for them. And there is a big big world to explore. We wished for this and you asked for it.
