Why we’re so excited

This isn’t just another trip - it’s an adventure into the soul of Kazakhstan, where every moment is filled with discovery, awe, and connection. From the moment you step into Almaty, you’ll witness the city’s unique blend of history, culture, and welcoming locals. But the real magic happens when you leave the city behind, making your way to the serene shores of Kolsay Lake, where time seems to stand still. Imagine hiking through lush forests, kayaking on sparkling waters, and exploring hidden corners of the wilderness that few ever get to experience.

All this, while you're on an epic chauffeured road trip across these insane landscapes! It’s not just about checking off landmarks; it’s about embracing the land’s raw beauty, breathing in the fresh mountain air, and feeling the deep connection to nature that surrounds you. This is your chance to experience Kazakhstan in a way that’s both intimate and unforgettable. Along with a tribe that makes it worthwhile, it’ll be the kind of experience that lingers on long after you’ve returned home.

See you in Kazakhstan!

With Love,

  • We recommend having a read-through of the itinerary above, and getting in touch if you have specific questions on fitness here.

This adventure is fast-paced and includes a road trip, however, the activities aren’t too strenuous so it is a fantastic trip for those with a normal level of fitness who want to see a lot in their time here. We also design our flow where we give enough downtime & space to explore on your own pace as well.

  • Fly into and from Almaty International Airport (ALA)

  • Please arrive in Almaty before 1 pm on Day 1, allowing ample time for immigration and reaching the hotel. You can have enough time to check in (3 pm) and rest, before the welcome meeting & dinner.

  • There are no activities planned for the last day, so leave any time you wish. The airport is approximately 35 minutes away from the hotel.

  • We don't offer airport transfers to the hotel because of the different arrival times of Bucketlister. Easiest way is to book a Fly Bus from the KEF airport to Foss Hotel Baron. We do recommend getting in touch with your fellow travellers on the WhatsApp group to coordinate if anyone is landing around the same time and take a Fly Bus to the hotel with them.

  • The luggage allowance for the road trip is one medium-sized suitcase and a hand bag. Please check your airlines baggage policy for the limit as well.

  • This isn’t a flag-waving group tour. This is a well-orchestrated experience designed to leave room for discovery.

Some adventures are pre-planned. Some unfold on the fly. Add-ons can be chosen in advance, and the rest? Facilitators often suggest spontaneous ideas you can join in — like a museum pop-in, a hidden cafe stop, or a live gig. These aren’t included in the package, but they’re often the most memorable.

Expect space to explore solo, connect with your tribe, or recharge at your own pace. This is an edition, not an itinerary.

Note: Gameplans, experiences & hotels are subject to change based on on-ground conditions. These changes are rare but can happen with little notice due to availability, poor weather, seasonal changes, or other circumstances beyond our control, but we’ll always do our best to ensure it has little impact on your experience. From time to time, we may also make changes to your itinerary to try out new ideas and keep things fresh and exciting, which we will always try and communicate to you.

  • 1. Changes & Transfers

    • Request all changes in writing (by the lead traveler) as early as possible.

    • We’ll do our best to accommodate your request but cannot guarantee it.

    • A ₹7,000 administration fee + any supplier charges applies per change.

    • Changes to dates or tours allowed up to 60 days before departure; after that, they’ll be treated as cancellations.

    • You may transfer your booking up to three times (each transfer incurs the ₹7,000 fee). Further transfers require payment of any outstanding fees.

    • If we can’t accommodate your change and you opt out, it’s treated as a cancellation.

    2. Cancellations

    • Notify us in writing—cancellation takes effect on the date we receive your notice.

    • Cancellation charges per person (excluding admin fees & insurance):

      • More than 90 days before departure: your full deposit is retained

      • 45–89 days: 50% of total tour cost

      • 30–44 days: 75% of total tour cost

      • Less than 30 days: 100% of total tour cost

    • All fees are based on the original start date, even after transfers.

    • Amendment fees, insurance premiums, single supplements, extra nights, and optional experiences are non-refundable per the above schedule.

    3. Credit Voucher Option

    • For a ₹7,000 fee, convert your payment into a 3-month credit voucher (non-transferable, single use).

    • If your new booking costs less than the voucher value, no refunds or additional credit will be issued.

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance to cover any unforeseen cancellations or changes.

  • At Bucketlist, the safety and security of our travellers are of utmost importance to us. We work closely with our ground staff to ensure that our itineraries prioritise safety above everything else. South Africa is a beautiful and welcoming country, but it’s important to be aware of potential safety issues. Although most tourist areas are generally safe, it’s still possible for travellers to experience crime. Exercise caution, especially in major towns and cities after dark or during planned blackouts. We recommend avoiding walking at night and using reputable transportation services instead, like Uber or hotel shuttles.

Why did we start Bucketlist?

As creators, founders ourselves, we know that travelling the world has made us more aware about the world outside & inside. We find travel to be an excellent facilitator of new ideas, perspectives & inspiration — something extremely critical for unlocking your potential. Bucketlist intends to create access to global experiences that help people level up.

How does it work?

Bucketlist curates the travellers. To request an invite, go here. Once you request your invite, the team screens your request and sends you an invite if Bucketlist is relevant to you. Once you get your invite, you can go ahead and confirm your spot.

How much does it cost?

Bucketlists cost approximately the same as you’d spend on a solo vacation in that destination. However, the value add you get is curated folks, handcrafted experiences & a journey that feels like a flow.

Who leads the journeys?

Bucketlists are designed in collaboration with local creators & founders in their countries. If it doesn’t inspire them, it won’t inspire you. Simple! Onground, these journeys are end-to-end facilitated by this local team.

Who will I meet?

Bucketlist curates it’s travellers, which means not everyone can buy a ticket. To join an adventure, you need to request an invite, after which the team screens your request and sends you an invite if Bucketlist is relevant to you. Once you get your invite, you can make a 20% advance payment to confirm your spot.

Can I ask for travel assistance?

Our round-the-clock team means you will always get help when you need it. We want your travel to be smooth, so outside of the well-designed travel dashboard and curated guidebook, our team will be happy to assist with travel, visa, flights or additional bookings.

Why Bucketlist?

The World has a lot to offer / As creators & founders, we look for inspiration in everything we do. We don’t know where the next epiphanies lie. One of the ways we’ve found to engineer serendipity, level up & create space for epiphanies is through new experiences & travel.

We have a lot to share / Hosting festivals, BHX, collaborating with brands and exploring the world has taught us a few things about creating experiences that move - creating communities where none exist.

You asked for it / Everytime we’ve hungout with creators, founders, movement makers, culture shifters in Shillong or in Berlin — they haven’t stopped asking us for more. SOTC, Solo Travel & travelling with friends just doesn’t cut it for them. And there is a big big world to explore. We wished for this and you asked for it.
